Hi, i have an 03 TBlzr it has 108,000+ on it and recently i have replaced the fan clutch, and a coolant temp. sensor and air filter ,although not at the same time. the only code it threw was the one for the temp sensor. now after it warms up it will idle very rough and then stall. while in drive it runs fine no hesitation at all its only when i come to lets say a stop light or sign that it will idle rough then stall. but there has been no codes thrown. any suggestions? this weekend i am planning on replacing the feul filter (still original) or could it be an IAC that is bad? would appreciate some helpful directions.

Have you ever cleaned the throttle body? The issue you have is a very strong indication that it needs to be cleaned both front and back.

I believe there is an article on how to do it, plus, you'll need to disconnect your battery or pull the PCM fuses for about 30 minutes to get the PCM to relearn the parameters.

Thanks. I will try that this weekend and replace the fuel filter as well.

My 2002 TB did the same thing for months off and on never a code. cleaned throttle body, fuel injector cleaner, etc.. without success. Finally got a code for bad camshaft position sensor. Changed that and problem solved.

My 03 acted similar a while back. Idle all over the place and damn near stalling. Replace the can position sensor as the previous poster mentioned and problem was solved. Its a cheap part, like $10 I think, one bolt holds it on. It took forever for the PCM to set a code was the only bad part about it. If you haven't already, try it and see.

my '03 ext has the same issue, but it's very sporadic. Once every two weeks or so. Idle gets irradic, then it just idles down and stalls. No codes. I replaced the cps today. We'll see what happens.

i would also +1 on the throttle body cleaning. that's a must.

I replaced the CPS yesterday and it stalled again today. The only thing that I can find common when mine stalls is that It's not fully warmed up to 210. I let the vehicle warm up a few minutes, then drive it for 2 miles or so, then it stalls. So the temp guage is probably around 170 or so when it stalls. Today it was in park when it stalled, sometimes it's in drive. No codes showed up today. I cleared the codes yesterday when I replaced the CPS. the only code the vehicle has shown recently is a P0440, evap. The only common thing that I've found with an intermittent stall and a P0440 code was someone posted on the internet that he had both and he replaced tha charcoal canister and the symptom went away. So far the stalling issue has been about once every two weeks.

+1 for Throttle Body Cleaning, ours stalled every time it went to idle with the fan and/or compressor running whether it was warmed up or not. Cleaned out the Throttle Body and it purrs like a kitten. I was really surprised that the TB cleaning fixed the issue but very easy/cheap to do and worth it even if it is not the solution.

Stetchi hasn't responded back since last week, so maybe he cleaned the TB and his issue went away, or he hasn't gotten around to cleaning it yet.. I've cleaned mine twice since new years, second time was just to reassure myself I cleaned it good and put the bolts in snug. I replaced the fuel tank pressure sensor yesterday to see if that knocks out my evap code (truck passed a smoke test at the shop). I have had 3 coil packs go bad since Christmas, so I replaced the other 3 last week just to eliminate them ( kept the old ones for spares) and to keep wife happy:smile:. I've replaced the plugs with 41-103 delco's. Without a code and with it only stalling once every 2 weeks or so I think it's going to be hard to pinpoint.
