A strong gust of wind blew the door out of my wife's hand when she was getting into the Envoy the other day and now the door opens and closes hard like the spring became disengaged. Does anyone know how to fix that or what it might be?

Without compnine, I'm floundering. I might have to break down and buy the manual...

Thanks!

Welcome!

Without compnine, many parts are listed with exploded diagrams at the web site of GM Parts - Chevrolet parts, Cadillac Parts, GMC Parts and Buick parts powered by Nalley Buick GMC Brunswick | Nalley Buick GMC Brunswick

I didn't check the door hinges there, because I keep a PDF of a lot of parts, and have posted its URL here a few times: http://www.roadie.org/GMT360_parts.pdf

There is no spring in the door. Just hinges and a "door check". You might have bent hinges and need a body shop to straighten them.
