Why do you think there may be an issue with the clock spring? Cruise could simply be a flaking out brake light switch. I didn't have that happen on my Trailblazer, but it did on my Silverado and I had to kick the side of the brake pedal to get it working again until I replaced the switch.

FWIW I found a used front sensor on ebay for 20 bucks. Maybe getting some cheap used parts may be an easier option than fidgeting with resistors and such (don't want to use the wrong one and make the vehicle think you hit something!)

I would tend to agree. IIRC (it has been many years now) the others work OK, however they don't have the lifespan of the Bilstein. So on average it comes down to spend it all now and do the work once, or spend half and do the work now, then spend the other half and do the work a second time later.

No go on the impact, couldn't get the clearance. Clearly they designed this rear suspension without that in mind. So, I torched the bolt for a bit, propped my feet against against the vehicle hub, stuck my long 18" ratchet on there, gave it a big heave, and CRACK! .... I busted my ratchet. 😑

Likely the bolt is rusted to the strut bushing's sleeve. If I have to cut it off, replacement bolts are $15 each at the dealer, but the nut is welded onto the control arm and is smooth. I guess a common thing is to have to cut the bolt off and somehow grind the welds off the nut to get it all...

GT5 will give you the best towing grunt, but will hurt your highway mpg the most when not towing. If my main concern was grunt, I'd go GT5. They're the hardest to find though I think. What year is your truck again? That can also play in. Earlier GMT360s can't be tuned for tire size, not sure...

I wouldn't worry too much about the AFM side of things if you get a newer one, just tune it out. That's what I did on my 5.3L Silverado and no real problems at 237k. I don't know about any oil ring seizure problems on the 5.3 or 4.2.
