What did you do to your GMT today?

Looking good, indeed! Did you go Line-X, or Rhino? Or is that something else entirely? As for me...I got the new tailgate swapped in today on the Sierra, now that the painting is finally (!) done. Broke the bezel that surrounds the handle, when I swapped all the hardware over, but ordered...

    Envoy Tires...

Oh, yeah! I put those same Kumhos on my first 1500HD, based on @C-ya 's recommendation. I'll back him up - for the $, they're a pretty good tire. I got a 'buy 3 / 1 free' at PepBoys; they've since discontinued them. But IIRC, a set of 4 in stock size 245/75/16 were less than $500 -...

    Metal tensioner pulley

I don't disagree! If you do decide to 'mod' it with one from another vehicle, post back on what you do; I may want to do the same on mine :undecided:

    Metal tensioner pulley

From what I can see, it looks like you might have to mod it, using parts from a non-GM. Even Summit, which has a billet tensioner from ICT for the LS engines - the pulley on it is plastic. On GM Truck Club I found a thread that might be helpful. Gives two NAPA numbers from an '83 Bronco (one...

    New wheels BFG Advantage T/A

I run BFG Commercial T/A on my Sierra 1500HD. Got a deal on them a couple of months ago from Discount Tire, and the 'old' Sierra had a set when I bought it, so I 'knew what I was getting into' with that tire (it's a 10-ply LRE) I like them for what they are (a long-wearing highway tire built...

    Envoy Tires...

I'd guarantee the OEM tire model is not still going to be manufactured. The other thing is that OEM-spec tires are generally a poor choice, when it comes to replacements. What's important to the manufacturer (in this case, probably a compliant ride) isn't necessarily the best tire to put on...

Fuel line between pump and filter?

Looking at that GM (?) diagram that @MRRSM posted - that looks like the OEM connection is a 90 degree? That really surprises me, from a flow standpoint (yeah, I know the pump is continually pushing it through, but still).

Another place to try is 'Serious Explorations' - they're Explorer-specific, but may know of a sister site (or have a section for the Escapes, like we do for the pickups, etc.) I used to belong to that site (before I got smart and stopped buying F*rds...) :nono:

In Home Movie Servers, Plex or NAS or ???, what do you use?

That's probably smart, considering your application. As for me, I use Moore's Law to my advantage (e.g.; I buy older, cheaper tech for home). Works well for me, at least. :2thumbsup: PS: Thanks (to all) for the supporting infra / gear info - interesting!

    Repair or Replace?

That pic alone is good evidence that that happened on hotel property. Did you - Inquire with the hotel about whether they would cover the damages (doubtful, but doesn't hurt to ask) Or... Ask them if they have security cam footage from their lot area? If you have handicap plates or placard...

Tips for at home rust repair?

After looking at all of that... nah, just get rid of it...LOL (kidding!) Yeah, it's a lot of work, but I'd do it. Lot of effort, but lots cheaper than a car note!

NP. FWIW, I don't think it's a case of 'yours being located somewhere else', but rather 'the '05-up don't have them' (external modules)

ACDelco Wiper Blade Rebate at RockAuto.com

For those wondering... (b/c I just checked): The regular 'rear' blade comes out to US $6.68 ea after discount, while the front blades are $7.44 ea They also have the 'winter' AC Delco blades on sale, as well as the special (?) Canadian winter blades - but if you want pricing on all of that...

    GMC ENVOY SLT ELITE

Holy sh!t, you guys... it ain't worth it. REALLY, it's not! Although I tend to agree with the one who said "Elite != Denali". Cause it ain't, if all 'Elite' is is stick-on badges (which don't even match!) & a key fob. That's worse than the 'gold' badge / grille packages they used to put...

In Home Movie Servers, Plex or NAS or ???, what do you use?

I use plain 'ol Roku, connected to my broadband router. Which is supplied by my provider, no less. I have the smallest broadband plan they offer - and very rarely does buffering kick in for a few seconds. Having the TVs on the 5GHz side helps, I suppose. But I can still stream YT vids to my...

Hmm...that's funny - mine fires right up almost instantly, once I put the new battery in. The old 6.0 I had would crank for a second or so (w/ new battery as well). I know I've got good compression/ power (just not 'how' much). Sorry to @MRRSM for hijacking his thead)

Tips for at home rust repair?

From what I see of your wheel arches, and the fact that you've never welded before (neither have I); I'd at least attempt body filler, first. Attempting a rear quarter replacement as a first welding project is a lot to bite off / chew. The blessing / curse is the composite panels that make up...

Paint peeps...I could use some advice

Yep...now that I got back home, I started looking at whether / not to sand base before clear - there are definitely some imperfections in the surface. Half the sites said 'no'...half said 'go ahead & hit it with 600, but you'll need to spray more base afterward'. The other thing I've learned...

The lighting has something to do with that. Although there's plenty of blue residue all over the floor of my garage (prolly on a bunch of stuff, too) I'll see if I can take it out in daylight sometime this weekend; maybe show it against the one on the truck.
