Need help !! 2005 trailblazer no start!!

That's a bummer for sure. FYI, doesn't need to be in neutral, the torque converter will rotate freely. I understand the remote possibility of a locked converter but highly unlikely with no trans pressure.

Need help !! 2005 trailblazer no start!!

One more thing....does it act up when you press the brakes? One distant possibility would be a ruptured brake booster diaphragm but only tossing this out as it would be a huge vacuum leak. Not likely but wanted to add that to the list. My hunch is on the positive side post mount of the...

What did you do to your GMT today?

Finally washed off the winter salt dust, grime from the engine bay. Have a bit of detailing to do but doesn't look abandoned anymore. l

Need help !! 2005 trailblazer no start!!

I know you mentioned this, but don't dismiss it..mainly the cables. You will not show any low voltage or a battery light with the alternator working...but with a loose battery cable at the battery or a loose ground will shut the motor down quickly and mimic your aymptoms. Being it's an...

Need help !! 2005 trailblazer no start!!

I would check your battery cables, ground cable, and also the battery. When you say it sputtered, oil light came on, then shut off....it sounds like you may have lost the connection from your battery. The alternator powers the vehicle when the engine is running, but unlike most cars of...

What did you do to your GMT today?

Quick update, new injectors on clean rail...they are stubborn to remove and reinstall to the rail, even with the seal oiled but not terrible. Leak test passed, had to do this before reinstalling the intake...Murphys law. Pressure regulator has to come back off to get the intake on but I'll...

What did you do to your GMT today?

Replacing all the fuel injectors today, about at the halfway point.

Need help !! 2005 trailblazer no start!!

Welcome.... Well, just to clarify, the 4.2 is an inline 6, not a V6. Check your oil, pull the dipstick, wipe clean, then check. Could be your battery or alternator is bad...hopefully, but check the oil and report back. Did you have any check engine lights on prior to it acting up? Did it...

    Recommendations on quick struts

@Reprise Awesome....thanks. The dealer said my VIN had the ....883 and ...884 springs, different part# for the left and right. Odd that they are different lengths and likely due to torque twist..not sure unless other areas of the chassis calls for different lengths. I will look into these...

    Recommendations on quick struts

I've never really researched the springs...but that sounds like the better choice, and to use the HD Bilsteins. Upon a quick search, the LWB models use a longer spring, (about 1" longer) with a higher load rating...this would explain the sag.

What came in your mail today?

I think this will also be a worthwhile upgrade. I'm going to change out all 4 calipers, pads, rotors, brake hoses, master cylinder, and of course the fluid. My calipers, hoses, master cyl are all stock. I have the large rotors with the aluminum OE calipers now, going to the iron from the SS...

    Recommendations on quick struts

Instead of swapping the Bilstein HD cartridges again, I would like to get the spring assembly this time. I'm after something a little stiffer than stock, but not much firmer (if at all) than the HD Bilsteins. I didnt have much faith in the Monroe after my buddy ordered them for his XL and the...

What came in your mail today?

Will hopefully get the injectors done this weekend. I want to get them cleaned and flow tested, but given their age, if I'm going to remove all of them, new ones are going back in. I will likely still get the old ones checked out for comparison. Also, this should complete the brake overhaul.

Replaced LCA and balljoints, truck pulls to the right when braking

Ok...I was referring to this gap. The 3 bolts on the LCA bracket require A LOT of torque, sometimes if not cranked down, the bracket can slide backwards under hard braking...happened to me. Just something to check.

Replaced LCA and balljoints, truck pulls to the right when braking

When you had the lower control arms installed, did they come with the lower control arm bracket as well? Just to check, take a look at both front wheel openings with the wheels straight...does one wheel look to be more forward than the other in the opening, ...by a noticeable amount? Does it...

Replaced LCA and balljoints, truck pulls to the right when braking

Late to the party so some of this is moot, there's a hole under the steering column that the alignment tech is supposed to insert a rod so the steering wheel remains straight when performing the alignment. This would have solved your crooked steering wheel. Brake hoses wont show much wear on...

Help to identify top end noise

This was a cold start this morning, even quieter. Hard to hear but sounds like a weak lash adjuster still...that's been the same for quite awhile. This is in the afternoon after a warm up.

Help to identify top end noise

Ran a few ounces of seafoam in the lower PCV port in hope's to loosen something up. Tried some low pressure compressed air both top and bottom, I did get some airflow restored. Drove it around and that seemed to be one of the major culprits...a restricted PCV system. I had a oil catch can and...

Help to identify top end noise

So I dove into this a little today and when I said I could plug the top port on the valve cover and stop the noise...that was awhile ago. Today I tried it and there was minimal suction...barely any. I removed the molded PCV hose on the intake and I have strong suction on top as I should, but...

    4200 cams - Bullet cams

I believe Competition Cams was grinding blanks for the 4200, parts and labor IIRC was about $1,500. If this can be done much cheaper I would love to get some info.

Help to identify top end noise

Well, I was thinking it would only be applicable at TDC and shortly after. In theory it holds some water, but in practicality I agree there are other stronger forces working against it, but....vacuum is a powerful thing, especially at almost 20 in Hg. The way it behaves when cold sometimes, I'm...

Help to identify top end noise

When I first saw that happen, I was also thinking it provides such a high amount of negative pressure in the crankcase that it possibly pulls the pistons down just enough to take up any gap from the rod bearings upon the start of the power stroke..... thus possibly reducing the amount of audible...

    Door weatherstrp compatibility between years

Can anyone confirm if a 2005 and later door seal will or can work on a 2002-2004 envoy front door? I want to say the plastic trim might be slightly different, but I can get the 05+ seal but not the 02 anymore. Curious as to how different they are.

Help to identify top end noise

I remember doing that a couple years back...been going round robin with this noise but sometimes it's barely noticeable. Yes, if I plug the port, the vacuum I believe pools the oil and the noise stops. Is that the known procedure to determine a bad lifter?

Help to identify top end noise

If I put it in gear and load it up, it's dead quiet. It's definitely happening at cam speed and is in the top of the motor. That being said one can argue it's happening on the power stroke but it appears to be in the top. The cell video seems to give a hint of a lower tone but it's a little bit...

Help to identify top end noise

Sounds like it's coming from the valvetrain...could be a bad lash adjuster. Sometimes when I start it I will get a noticeable, .much louder tap, tap, tap...might last a few seconds, or close to a minute. However....if it does tap, as soon as I shut the motor down and restart, it's gone. No noise...

Stainless lines avail for 02 models?

When I changed to the larger rotors on my 02, I used the brackets from the LWB model..I believe the 03 XL. Later on I was going to change the calipers to the iron ones from the TBSS, the calipers would not fit inside the LWB brackets...I needed brackets from the SS. This may have changed after...
