    Stuck rack bolts

As for the two rack mounting bolts, I wonder about replacements just in case they break or have to be burned off. Are they a common size, or will it take 2 weeks to get. The Envoy is my daily driver and I live in NE Pa. where it snows. Other ride is my mid-life crisis car, a "give me a ticket...

    Stuck rack bolts

Just wondering. What size/grade are those bolts/nuts. Wolud consider replacing. Also, at this point, considering taking to local shop to have done. After wrestling with those bolts for a couple of hours, at 67, I feel beat up. Find it interesting that these bolts are only torqued to...

    Stuck rack bolts

Didn't make that clear. I removed the socket and wrench holding it from the back side of the bolt. Nothing moves, whether the nut is being held or not. Trying to replace rack and fluid lines. Supposedly the rack was leaking, but I suspect it was the high pressure line at a crimp.

    Stuck rack bolts

The problem is the bolt doesn't budge at all! Tried the sparkplug socket with a wrench, then just for fun removed it, and hit the bolt with the impact wrench again. No movement! Might try a heat gun but realistically I'm not going to try to cut/burn it off. Any thought on intermediate shaft...

    Stuck rack bolts

HELP! 2009 Envoy SWB. Last st insp said rack was leaking and I needed to have fixed. Picked up a rack and after taking everything off EXCEPT the rack, it looks like it is the high pressure hose that is leaking. My problem is that the two bolts that hold the rack in place are absolutely stuck...

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

Took another ride to u-pull-it to get a plug for LGM. On original, the area between the large orange and purple wires looked somewhat melted. Installed replacement with spliced in plug, now everything works. Reprogrammed fobs work better than ever. Ground must have been less than great for a...

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

Well now with a better ground wiper works, have retained power, key fobs work, defogger does not. Looking at the original LGM the two adjacent contact for the larger orange wire and the purple wire look a bit melted. Tried the u-pull-it unit from the 08 Envoy. Now I have defogger plus...

    Headlight Lens Cleaning

For the amount of time and effort, not including the random orbit sander, I would have been better off getting a replacement. After several hours the 3M kit didn't do anything noticeable. It seems there is a coating of some kind over the lens and you have to sand thru that first. Started out...

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

Well, ran new ground from D pillar to liftgate with a branch spliced into the original liftgate ground wire. All orange wires still have power. Wiper now works!! Defogger grid is still dead, good to ground from purple wire, but no power. Forgot to note if anything was clicking. Also, fobs...

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

Since yesterday was a reasonably decent day weatherwise, I had a lot of other stuff to do than work on the Voy, but I did back it into the garage for a quick look. Raised the liftgate and it only cachunked once like it's supposed to, hmmm. Moved ignition to on but did not start. When I...

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

Switch on driver's door works like it should, I think. Say that because once or twice I was sure I locked the doors, upon exiting, but the liftgate was unlocked. If I raised the gate to the point of hearing the cachunking sound the liftgate would then lock upon closing. Reading other posts I...

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

Replaced lock/actuator with a U-Pull it from an 08 Envoy. No change, except that sometimes the ligtgate unlocks when it shouldn't. I have not gotten around to opening module yet. The U-Pull it had no 09 Envoys or Trailblazers and 08 part number did not match.

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

All orange wires have power, all black wires show good ground. With defog switch on, there is no power on the purple wire at the LGM. There is some problem with liftgate latch. There is a linkage that rotates a tab so that the glass cannot be opened when the liftgate is raised. The solenoid...

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

If I pick-up a LGM from a u-pull-it, will remotes work or have to be reprogrammed?

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

Somehow my response seems to have disappeared. Have 12v at orange wire, ground is good. With igniton on have 2.3v at green wire regardless of switch position. Also had 12v there at one point but can't remember what I did. Neither remote unlocks the liftgate. One press does nothing, 2 or...

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

Forgot something. Had 0.1v at the blue wire with ignition off. With ignition on, voltage seemed to vary or pulse. Looks like I have contact thru all wires that pass into the liftgate. Should I look for a LGM in a U-Pullit? Should I try to get same year?

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

This is what I did. Pulled out the connector that is in the upper section of the liftgate. There are 6 wires, is this correct? Three orange wires of different sizes, all 12v. One black ground, good ground. One brown wire that goes to the license lights. And one light blue wire, that shows...

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

Three orange, black ground, and purple to grid are all OK. Will Check smaller wires but will have to unwrap I guess. Any idea of how many other wires there should be? Is there a way to test lt blu data line? With only a DIMM.

    NEED HELP Liftgate electrical problems

It all started with a defogger that did not work. Same thing happened on my 04, turned out to be a broken wire. Took a look but couldn't find anything. Didn't have time to mess with further. The next day I found that the rear wiper wasn't working either. Also the remote fob didn't seem to...

    Frame repair rust damage

Had frame rust in the same area on my 04 Envoy. Did not pass inspection in Pa. Most welding or body shops wouldn't even look at it. The one shop that would said to leave it for a couple of months or so. Ended up dropping off at salvage yard and replacing with a 09 Envoy.

    TC Motor

Well with missing the "O" ring, that was not included with the actuator I received, the plunger would not move as far as it should. Your plunger moved the full range but did nothing since the fork was broken. If the plunger was stuck, or couldn't move far enough that would create an error...

    TC Motor

IT WAS AN "O" RING!!!!! First, I would like to thank every body who posted suggestions, I learned more about GM 4 wheel drive than I ever thought I would. Got it fixed in mid November, but just got around to posting now. First the front axel disconnect actuator was bad, so I replaced it...

    TC Motor

Will check that again, wouldn't be the first time I got confused on color. Maybe take another trip to U-Pullit and get a switch. On a related subject, I took apart the original TC motor. 4 levels of reduction gears and 1 missing tooth gumming up the works. The gearbox was dry, not a sign...

    TC Motor

Well, went by the stealer to see if they could do a diagnostic on the TC. With virtually no one in a large service area, I was told that I would have to make an appointment and MAYBE they could get to it in about 2 weeks. Did they send everybody home for Covid? Don't they work far enough...

Ok. I hope this means that the TC is not toast. Maybe just sensor or TCCM?

    TC Motor

OK, but can you turn clockwise to a position that is not "spring loaded", or does the TC motor just hold this position to give 4Hi?

    TC Motor

JUST WONDERING. I was at the U-Pull It yard the other day and found an Envoy TC on the ground, transmission was gone. Pulled the TC motor and tried turning the shaft. Found 4Lo full counter clockwise. Going clockwise to neutral and then 2HI. After this there was a "spring loaded" position...

    TC Motor

Replacement TC motor is a Dorman probably from either Rock Auto or Parts geek. Tried turning TC shaft CW. After 2WD there seems to be an almost spring loaded position, with vise grips on and a bungee cord applying pressure, it seems to be in A4WD or very close. With trans in neutral, turning...
