Help for a Newb: Changing Oil

Hi, welcome to the forum. I am a newbie too. There is a member on this forum, MAY03LT, who made a youtube video on how to change the oil on a trailblazer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwHUvJzE83o If you continue to get your oil changed at the dealership, I recommend you check your oil level...

Good luck on your new project. I look forward to hearing your updates. You may need this, though... Rock Hill Farms  Seriously, it is outstanding good bourbon.

What did you do to your GMT today?

I removed a couple of spots of pine tar off the hood. Sorry, no pictures. Next step...cover/fill-in some small paint chips - got the Scratch Fix 2 in 1 Duplicolor ready to go for this weekend.

    Could use some informed opinions

I would think that if there are no major repairs, such as engine or tranny, then it could be worth driving a few more years. But, a lot of the decision can end up being somewhat subjective. Such as with my friend and his '99 Corolla with over 200,000 miles. My thought was that instead of trying...

What did you do to your GMT today?

My plans were to run a couple errands, eat lunch and then wash my truck. I picked up lunch, and as I was driving home, I noticed there were some guys set up doing a car wash for charity. I let them wash my truck. And, I have to say, eating my lunch and listening to good tunes on the radio...

Ha! Once you've had Rock Hill Farms, you can never go back down to Jim Beam. Only question I've got is about your taste in beverage, sir.

    So depressed....

I understand your frustration. It may help to keep your focus on your plan instead. The plan to get Phantom paid off, get your wedding expenses behind you, purchase a vehicle for your hubby, and then get a really good paint job that will last on Phantom. It will be worth every penny, because it...

Pinellas Park is a little far from me, especially while I am working full-time and going to school. But, ya'll be sure to post lots of pics up on the forum from the meet!

Your updates are so good to hear. These trucks are worth it, in my mind. There just isn't any other vehicle out there right now in its class, use and price range that I like more. With all the stuff you are going to be doing to the rest of your truck too, you'll have to take it out...

Hi, I'm a TrailBlazer owner and enthusiast!

Hello and thanks to all for the welcome. @Voymom: thanks, good to see you, another TB/Envoy gal here too! @Octane: Yeah, working on the idle issue. Got some improvement with something but am waiting on some other stuff to check out before making a full update to my rough idle thread @Porkins...

    Rough Idle Mystery Unsolved...so far...

Thanks for the tip about keeping the old serp belt. That is a great idea, and I will do that. I have had an alt go out on me...many years ago...but, I still remember the experience vividly, and of course it went out on me while I was driving AT NIGHT. I'd rather replace the alt now than have it...

A little update... I got the battery checked. It did need replacing. No suprise there, as I confirmed it was the orignal battery on the vehicle. I said "hello" to the little red wire, as the old battery came out and the new Interstate Battery went in. The alternator tested high voltage...
