Wheels restore

Yesterday morning i m starting my wheels restauration:

I think I need to do my old impala wheels this way as the clear seems to have contracted some crazy disease.

I'll spend a stripper, then once they are completely sanded and polished, I will apply a varnish.
Except painted interior parts, I will keep.

Looks Great! I need to do this to mine.. But I can't decide if it's worth it or if I should just get some nicer bigger wheels and keep the effed up stockers for winter tires.. slap some snow tires on'em to climb mountains with ice n snow...

thanks, tomorow i get my center cap.
But they are in plastic and thermoplastic paint is not possible for them....
It's to hot.
I had painted five wheels, my rescue wheel will also like those installed on the car.

Looks nice, I am thinking about painting my stock wheels and using them if it ever snows of ices down here. Or if i go out racing.....

This is a special paint that is resistant to all weather.
It is this painting that is used for outdoor furniture.
Here there they are calling this thermo-lacquered paint.
The process is that the colored powder after baking, becomes solid and protective.

Its just regular powdercoating then,right?.
But they look great,have to do it to my winter wheels as well.

I've thought about doing the same, maybe black or black chrome but, what to do with the plastic center cap? Maybe regular paint or clean, buff and a regular clear coat paint? But those center caps are plastic covered with a thin metal. I wonder if it would be possible to peel off the metal, have it powder coated and then just glue it back on the plastic.

Ah yes but some want to keep the original look. Me, I don't like the Batman look. My son did his whole car with Plasti-Dip. Makes touch ups easy.

Here is some photos of the last show car in France, you can see my wheel rims finished with the centers caps of wheels.
They are slightly more darkened because the principle of paint(painting) is different.
