My dad has the AT3 on his truck and they ride really nice. Quieter than I expected as well. Seems they had a really good price and I must say they look good. His truck runs a 265-75-16--FYI.

HARDTRAILZ How has the tire tread life been

He has about 8Kish miles and look basically new. Seem to be wearing good. He said the little snow we had was nothing for them as well.

I have had nothing but good luck with Cooper Tires. Haven't had them on my TB, but I think my next set of tires will be the Cooper Discoverer A/T3. On my last vehicle I went from Goodyear, to Dunlop, to 2 consecutive sets of Cooper. The Goodyear sucked, car drifted all over the highway and I blew 3 tires in 2 weeks in potholes. The Dunlops were fun, incredible grip, could go around the on ramp circle at 80+ mph without a sound, but they only lasted 12K miles, too soft. The Coopers lasted the mileage the were rated for, rode great and handled very nicely. And their price is reasonable as well.

Blow in the tread or the sidewall?

A little of both but mainly side wall. I didnt have the cash to upgrade so i just replaced with the same tire. those A/T3s are hard to get a hold of took month and a half to get them originaly when they first came out and 2 weeks to get a replacement. luckly my spare was decent and a friend had an extra in case i blew anouther.

Discount Tire has 14 tires in the stock size for a Denali: Tire Products By Vehicle - Discount Tire . You're best bet is to stay with that size. The only other option for you is a 255/55/18 which has plenty of choices, but the price is about the same and is 1.7" shorter in overall diameter (which will put your speedometer reading 1.8% too fast). Not to mention it will probably look goofy.

Thanks for your efforts. I know I can find several brands of tires in my original size 245-60-18, however who ever replaced the OEM tires before I bought it (2008) put a new set of Michelin Cross Terrains in a 275-55-18 on, as replacements. I really like the look of the tires, the ride, the handling. The only thing about them is they are so old date wise. I may have to replace them before the tread wears out because the sidewalls are beginning to check. If I was running these tires in the southern USA they would have been gone a long time ago. Heat and this old a tire don't mix well from what I have read. I believe the recommendation is 6 years old max. Mine were turning 7 when installed new.

I have searched and the only tires I can find in a 275-55-18 are Khumo ECSTA STX and Michelin Latitude Touring TR. I am not fussy about the Khumo's and I haven't read a lot of good about this model of Michelin's. Other folks have said Tirerack has Michelin Cross Terrains but I can't find any in the 275-55-18 size, lots of 17" for you guys.

The 18" 275-55's are the ones I am looking for but I don't think they make them anymore. I suspect that the guy who put them on my truck got nearly the last set since the date stamps on the 4 tires was from 2001.

I have noticed another post asking about Coopers. I like Coopers, have had great luck with them, and would buy them again. In fact if I can't find something I like I will go with Cooper Discoverer CTS's, 245-60-18's.

Treadwright Pumas, 245 65 17, on BFG All Terrain carcass + kedge grip.

Just installed in Nov, low snow year so haven't had much of a chance to play around. Very happy early on.

Thanks,

I just washed her Saturday. She's pretty much a garage queen has about 22,000 miles on her. My wife hit those blocks you see in the front and popped a tire, or it would still have the originals. I like a more aggressive looking tire, but they sure do make it harder to keep them clean.

265/65/17 Bridgestone Dueler Revo AT on stockers
275/55/20 Cooper Zeon LTZ on the SS rims

Both of the tires have performed extremely well for me, Dueler Revos have been excellent in wet conditions and in snow.
The Coopers have yet to see any snow :sadcry:

Right now I have BFG All-Terrain's in 275/70/17, which will eventually become my off-road/winter set. When I get my new set of wheels, they will be of 255/55/18 and unsure of which type I will get.

Hercules Terra-Trac SUV

been a great tire so far, great all around traction. Have about 25k on them, and about 50% tread remaining. Warrenty has been great. Dealer installed when I bought the truck, had a unrepairable puncture a couple weeks ago, they replaced it free of charge, no questions asked.

Currently running BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A's 235/75/16, great tire rides smooth. I previously had General Grabber HTS 245/70/16 and I am so glad to see those go.
