Hi everybody. Working on the girlfriends 06 Envoy Denali. She was driving it the other day and starting smelling burning oil. So, I checked it out and didn't really find anything. Thinking maybe I was adding some oil and spilled some, maybe? But, while I was under it looking around, I noticed that the transfer case leaking. Not a huge amount, but leaking. Its coming from the seal between the transfer case and the rear driveshaft tail piece housing. Now, I would like to fix this. But Im worried about what Im digging into. If its just take the drive shaft out, remove the housing and reinstall, then its no problem. Is there anything in the housing to worry about? Just worried about taking it apart and realizing its way more in depth that I thought.
