Post 'em if you have them.

I have to dig mine up, if not, I'll just snap some new ones.

I have too many damn tats. Some of a memorial of my dads passing back in 2000. Some for my son. My yankees. Lots of tribal. One on my back. One on my leg. Too much money invested. Would rather invest in my truck. Wish I could get some redone but like I said, too much $$.

I went to a tattoo shop with some friends over 10 years ago, one of them got inked that day. (The Troy Lee Designs piston/rod and cross spark plugs) While browsing through the wall art, I came across an American flag behind some claw marks that caught my eye. I immediately thought to have the Puerto Rican flag (for dad) and the Aruban flag (for mom) put behind the claw marks. I was never in a real hurry to get them...just a "If I ever decide to get tattoo'ed, that's what it would be" kind of deal. Once all the tattoo shows hit the scene though, I got the itch and wanted my pieces.

The/my original design looked like this.

flagtat62.jpg

My guy came up with these designs...

After watching these tattoo shows for so long, my expectations grew to be what I saw on TV; go in, tell/show what you want, artist draws it up and shows you, after approval, tattoo takes place, then get up and check it out! Guy didn't even show me the design at first! He's like, almost ready to start, and I had to ask..."Um, can I see the design?!" He's like...."Well, here it is...but you won't be able to make anything out of it. You just gotta trust me." So I did....and the only expectation I had that was met was....he knocked it out of the freakin PARK! I was blown away with the design! But again...I had to ask to see it in the mirror?! He was just going to wrap it up and send me on my way? Weird....

But in the end, they're awesome pieces, and I couldn't be happier to honor my parents in this way.

I also did NOT expect it to hurt so freakin bad! I wasn't sure what to expect, but even after the experience, I can't describe how it feels...you just have to see for yourself. I hadn't really eaten anything before the first one though (I got the Aruban one first, PR one 2 weeks later), just a PB&J sandwich and some chips, so that was my bad. About halfway through the outline, I nearly passed out! We had to stop so I could get some water and chew some gum. LMAO!! Felt like a total bitch, I mean...my 56 year old mother in law got her first tattoo on her shoulder a few years ago, and she boasted about how it wasn't bad at all. Ah well, everyone's different I guess. The second one didn't hurt nearly as bad though...

i can attest to this.. i was there.. and i thought they were bull shittin when he asked if everything was ok.. then i saw him slouch in the chair, and i was like OH SHIT!!! lol... but about 20 minutes later.. he rocked it out!! definetly glad i got to experience my brothers first tattoo with him...

I just took some pics

My first tattoo was my "Familia" or Family on my right, upper arm
62168eb9-0243-b375.jpg

And my second, third and fourth in order from top to bottom on my left, upper arm

"Hope"
"Nautical Star"
&
"Love" Double meaning... It's a band tattoo (Angels And Airwaves) and I liked the literal meaning of the word

62168eb9-0318-96f5.jpg

And of course, I'm looking to get a few more. I want to get tattoos that actually mean something and that can be somewhere easily covered since hopefully my future professions will be in business. I know that tattoos are more accepted in the work place but I know I wouldn't wan to not get a job over something like this.

I equate the pain to someone slowly dragging a razor blade across your skin. Just deep enough to draw blood.

The outlining was the worst part.

I don't have any pictures of mine.

This, I remember the outline to my first one. It was such a bitch, the shading felt better. But obviously it didn't hurt too much since 3 more followed. :rotfl:

Watching someone battling cancer is NO fun. When I was in middle school my dad had cancer. Then had surgeries and was good for a while till it came back and it spread to his brain 6 yrs later. I miss that son of a bitch. Glad ur wife is better.

This one is for my Dad and my girls. It's the Australian Made symbol that goes on everything that's mad back home. It's a stylised kangaroo.

This one is for my son Connor. I'm not over the moon with the flag...the stars are the Southern Cross that's on the Aussie flag.

When people ask about how it feels, I usually answer with "It feels like what it is, a needle going into your skin over and over again."

I will have to snap some pics. Have 3(so far), a scorpion on my upper right arm, a skunk (similar to Flower) on my left sholder blade, and three solid black rings around my right calf. The skunk is a reference to my late grandfather who got one overseas on his forearm...called it "stinky" as a child. Other members of my family have it also....so does that make a skunk my family crest?

Next up are my twin boys names, one on each forearm; my daughters name over my heart. That should just about wrap it up for me.

Just got my first one this morning. The symbol is from the middle part of a band logo (The Cruxshadows). Huge fan of them, and gotten to know some of them over the years.
