    Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question about replacing the fuel filter on a 2007 4.2. Is a special tool needed to disconnect the fuel lines from the filter? I remember Fords and older GMs had a clam shell like fuel line disconnect.

Thank you all for the time! Have a great day and a Happy Thanksgiving!

I was under the impression it was mounted on the frame rails behind the drivers side wheel. Am I wrong?

OK. Thanks, guys! So it is the in tank pump with the fuel strainer and that's it? Boy I would have been annoyed if I crawled under it and spent an hour trying to find the filter!

Yup. Unfortunately only the early ones had the replaceable filter.
