NEED HELP P0496 06 LS 4WD 4.2

Y'all were such a help with my p2440 code (simple fix bad relay #55)

that I am hoping for the same help now on P0496

I have already changed out the canister purge valve underneath the truck.

I put voltage to it and the valve wasn't doing anything

it's my understanding there is another solenoid/valve on the right hand side of the motor

that folks have been changing as well.

The valve you linked to is the evap "vent" valve. These get confused a lot (even Autozone has the part name incorrect) with the actual purge valve:

The purge valve is the one on the driver's side of the engine, below the intake manifold. The P0496 indicates that yours is stuck open or leaking. Fortunately there's not a whole of diagnosing to do for this DTC, just replace the solenoid.
