Nuts in my blower motor

2001 Tahoe, I know it's a squirrel cage fan but I got a little varmint placing acorns and hickory nuts in my blower fan. It's becoming all to regular and it is a PITA to keep pulling the fan to remove them
Does anyone know where I can place hardware cloth screen to stop. And yes there is a 12ga beside the garage door if I see it in the yard.
