Ok so about a year ago I bought a set of painted matte black wheels and I absolutely love'em. But a couple weeks ago I noticed some brake dust accumilating on one of my wheels from a rubbing brake pad that Is now fixed. Ive tried cleaning this stuff off with regular car wash detergent but nothing I'm using seems to be working. I know I cannot use regular wheel cleaners on this type of finish because the chemicals are too harsh. Ive contacted the manufacturer to see what they recomended but I'm still waiting for a response. Does anyone have any suggestions on which cleaners would work best for this type of finnish?

Blackfire makes a legit wheel cleaner that is safe for painted/anodized/chrome/etc wheels. It looks like their latest version is called total eclipse. I was skeptical that it would work as advertised since there aren't any harsh chemicals but damn if it didn't.

I have heard good things about Brake Dust Pro, also known as BDP. I seen it promoted for cleaning brake dust off plasti dipped wheels. Looks like it works well and is safe for all wheel surfaces.

Thanks for the input guys. May03LT did you have any problems with it leaving any white residue behind after it dried?
