Grease splatter?

Towed the pop-up about 4 hours home today, found the splatter in the picture when I got home. It had similar splatter I picked it up, but I removed the cover to inspect and firmly reinstalled followed by a power wash to clean everything spic and span.

Any ideas on what's going on here?

Most of my trailers do that, especially since I have caps with zerks (bearing buddies) so the excess grease flings out.
