Driver Door Will Not Open From Inside

So, the driver's door in the old 9-7x won't open from the inside anymore. I was able to reconnect the door lock, so that works. But I couldn't get the driver's door handle to open it. I couldn't find where it went, even blasting it with light, I couldn't figure it out. I'm getting really sick of opening the door by rolling down the window. Photo or video would be great.

Could just be the rod retention clip that broke. Do you feel resistance when you try to open the door from inside or there's just nothing?

There's nothing there. At all. When I took the panel off, there was one yellow clip that holds he outside door handle rod to the lock and latch assembly. I'm gonna tear it apart in the morning again and see if I can't find that clip. I know there's a Dorman Help rod set. Hopefully I can get one that fits.
