Differences between early and late 03 4.2's?

I just parted out a late 03 Bravada for a motor to put in an early 03 Bravada. I just found one motor has a sensor (maybe oil level?) on the bottom of the oil pan. The motor I'm installing doesn't. My first thought was to install it with out the sensor. It looks like if I want the sensor , I would have to swap oil pans. Will this turn on any service lights? Are there any other differences between early and late 03 motors? ~BOB 11-8-16s 006.jpg

I put an 03 engine into my 02 and swapped the pan just to retain the sensor (I think it's a good idea that GM should have retained). But, if you don't want to swap it, leave it unplugged and it will not bother anything.

Thanks Mooseman. I'm trying not to make this swap any harder than it already is. I've been restoring old cars for a living for 39 years, and I think I could have swapped ten motors into old cars in the time it's taking to do this one. ~BOB
