Is a 2004 control arm different then a 2003?

Auto zone says it is but my brother has a 2004 and they look 100% the exact same

What does Rockauto say? Check a part number and see which years fit.

There were some changes to the sway bar links over the years. They changed the angles of the ball joint style ones at least once before they went to the vertical rod and bushing style later on.

I know auto zone. Oreilys and 1A auto all say there different and the picture shows the piece the bushings go in being different but the piece that is different in the picture is not on the 3 2004s I have looked at. I'll check rock auto tho.

Also when I ordered the 2004 control arms the ones I received were the exact same looking as the 2003 and 2004 and did not have the different bushings as shown in the picture

The first picture is to a 04 the second picture is a 03 the 3rd picture is what I was sent. It says it's for a 04 but it matches the 03

08 was the big change year when they went to the old fashion bushing type end links rather than the joint type of prior years.

I can't see any differences with those. Just compare to the old ones, install and enjoy.

Oh yeah, some sort of extra gusset around the one bushing. Don't see how that would affect fitment on another year truck though.
