Ok - I need some alternator experts to chime in.
I had a deal all set with @kickass audio for his mechman 250A alternator - and I didn't realize the casings were different between the 4.2 and 5.3 versions - until about 5 minutes ago.
Is it possible to swap casings on these two (let's assume an AC Delco, for simplicity's sake - if someone says it's not technically possible, then I'll pretty much know.)
I know I may have to contact Mechman for a specific answer concerning their alternator, but figured I'd ask in a 'general' context. Appreciate any replies
On edit: @kickass audio was nice enough to reply and says 'no go' to a case swap. I'll leave this open for a bit to see if there are any dissenting opinions (probably not, but since the thread is now open...)
