Backing plates

I just replaced all four rotors and found the rear backing plates are crumbling rust plates, changing these looks a bit tricky. Curious mostly, any hints or things I should be aware of, (that's if i even replace them).

Most just rip them off and forget about them.

I agree with Mooseman. You have to remove the axle shafts to replace these, not worth the effort just to have them rot away again in a few years.
