I'm planning on doing a AFM/DOD delete here eventually. what I'm wondering is if it would be possible to use the cam out of a 6.2 truck motor. deleting the active fuel management, but adding the variable valve timing. it's an 07 LH6 so I'm pretty sure it's a 58x.

You'd have to swap over pcm components as well because I imagine it's electronic... and then make that wiring work. I'd say it's more trouble than its worth for not that much of a gain.

I would say "no" because your block wouldn't have the oil passages and provisions for the CPAS to run the phaser. I did the full delete but if your valvetrain is fine, you can just tune it out and leave the DOD stuff there. I did it because I thought I had valvetrain noise but it didn't help. With a 6.2 cam, it would need to be dyno tuned unless it has the same characteristics as the non-DOD 5.3 cam.
