it is impossible to "Prove a Negative". For others in this situation, it is a bit too early to look so askance at such well-intended advice,
which is what he came here for in the first place.
In general, for ANY repairs involving so much additional and difficult labor, suggesting to choose GM or ACDelco OEM Parts over anything else is a "Recommended Standard of Care" at GMTN that is in line with many other's empirical experiences. In the OP's present situation, it's really too early to tell or make such an affirmative (-) evaluation to make a fair comparison.
